Gale, You're right about Winchester and Frederick Co. Frederick and Augusta Co.'s were formed from Orange Co. in 1738, then Augusta divided into several others including Fincastle (now extinct), which was split into Montgomery and Washington Co.'s in 1776. Do a Google search for G. Lee Hearl for the best break down of VA counties that I've seen. Think our Peters are probably different. What other VA counties did you find for yours? Katie, That's the only VA county name I have for Peter Moyers. From (b.1752) Peter Moyers' pension application submitted in Lincoln Co. TN in 1832: He removed to MD where he lived for 6 years and then (1793) removed to Winchester VA where he lived for 23 years (1816). He then lived in OTHER PARTS OF VA for 3 years. (1819). And then at age 67, he removed to TN where his name first shows on deeds in 1819.
