    1. [MOYERS] Re: Moyers-Lincoln County, Tn.
    2. A reply posted to a message on the Moyers Board. I too have knowledge of two Peters in Lincoln Co. TN - Peter Sr. and Peter Jr. I believe Peter Sr. b. 1752 to be the father of my Jacob (b. 1805 m. to Lettice Coulter in 1839 in Cane Hill Arkansas), as well as Samuel m. to Phelps, Peter Jr. (age 30-40 in the 1830 census), George and Henry. Yes, I am suggesting that there were 3 Peters -that the above Peter Sr.'s father was Peter the immigrant b. 1727 in Germany and that this Peter the immigrant died in Berks Co. PA, Bethel Township, 1787, shortly after the Revolutionary War and was never in Lincoln Co. TN. I've never seen any actual records that indicate 1727 Peter served in the Revolutionary War. The only records that I have ever seen or read about have belonged to Peter Sr. b. 1752 ,PA. They can be found, among other places, in Pennsylvania Archive 5th Series, Volume 5 pp. 150, 183, 185, 205, 235, 265, 285. These records in Berks Co. indicate his (Peter b. 1752) brothers may have been: George; Phillip; Jocob; Nicholas; Michael; John; and Henry. I've also never seen any thing that would indicate that immigrant Peter b. 1727 was ever in Lincoln Co. TN? It seems that the 1820 census records are referring to Peter Sr. b. 1752 and his sons. I believe that there is enough evidence to suggest that the stories, family traditions, etc. were about Peter Sr. b. 1752 in Berks Co. PA (not Germany) who served in the revolution, who had children born between 1785 - 1805, and who died in 1844 in Lincoln Co. TN not about his father, Peter the immigrant b. ca. 1727 in Germany. Gale ( 1727 Peter > 1752 Peter > 1805 Jacob > 1844 William Alexander who served with his brother James in the Civil War > 1893 Laura A. Moyers - my grandmother)
