He appears to have come there about 1798 and appears on tax lists in the early 1800s and on the 1810 census. Somehow connected with him is a "Mary Moyers, alias Showman." Is this Frederick the one who is the son of Michael and Magdalena Meyer of Washington Co., MD? Several of Michael and Magdalena Meyer's children married Showmans. The Frederick Moyer(s) in Grainger Co. has property bordering that of Joseph Lang/Long whose wife, Elizabeth, was a dau of Michael and Magdalena Meyer. He also provided the bond for the marriage of one of Joseph's Lang/Long's sons. Frederick Moyer(s) d. in 1829 and Mary Moyers of Grainger Co. m. 1833 Benjamin Peck. Frederick's will mentions only wife Mary. However, there is some property transaction between Frederick and a Michael Meyers. A son? Joseph Lang/Long left Washington Co., MD about 1785 and were in VA before appearing in Grainger Co. about 1798. A daughter was bap. in 1793 in Rockingham Co., VA. Also in Rockingham Co., VA was a Frederick Moyer(s). Was he the same one? ANY help will be appreciated.
