    1. [MOYERS] Elias Moyers of Union Co IL
    2. Anderson
    3. Elias Moyers, born around 1762, came to Union Co IL by 1828, when he applied for a Rev War pension there. His declaration is posted at the Union County pensions page at http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/UnionPens/47 . He may have come to Illinois directly from the area of Cabarrus Co NC with the Meisenheimer and/or Cruse families, some of whom arrived in Union County by 1820. I suspect he was the Elias "Moyer" listed in the 1790 census of Mecklenburg Co NC. He is not to be confused with Elias "Myers" Sr. or Jr., both of whom were listed in Lincoln Co NC in 1790. According to a submission to the LDS Ancestral File, in 1775 in Rowan Co NC an Elias "Miars" married Magdalena Cruse, whose brothers Peter and John Adam Cruse came to Union County. The Elias of this marriage may have been somehow related to the Elias born around 1762. I would like to hear from anyone who has any information on Elias or his family. I'm not related to him, just interested in him as a Revolutionary War veteran resident in Union County. Andy Anderson
