    1. Re: [MOYERS] RE: Christian MAYER/MOYER/MIER/MYERS
    2. Hello Marie, I know absolutely nothing about Isaac Myers who reportedly took the Ohio River route west. Family history has Jacob Myers coming from the Palatine area of Germany (HRE) around 1760. Supposedly ABRAHAM was the first child born after the boat landed. He died in Walker County, Alabama in 1840. Records indicate that JACOB was a private in the Orangeburgh Militia, in what is now South Carolina, during the Revolutionary War. ISAAC was the second born after their arrival. He was born around 1762. Lore has Isaac migrating west via the Ohio River Route. That's the last he is heard from as far as descendants know. ABRAHAM along with his father, JACOB, migrated west via Virgiania, Carolina. Georgia into Alabama. At the time of their migration, I believe that Virginia, Carolina and Georgia may have stretched from the Atlantic Coast to the Mississippi River. Pennsylvania was just a small place. Somewhere in Virginia, ABRAHAM married SARAH ROBERSON, about 1792. In 1794, they were in Elbert County, Georgia, where their first son, John, was born. All of Abraham and Sarah's children appear to have been born in Georgia. JACOB died between 1805 and 1808 in Jackson County, Ga. In 1808, his property was sold by his heirs. I know this has not helped you with your Ohio Myers, but maybe it is a start. Start with yourself and work back as far as you can go. You might check the 1800 through 1850 Ohio census records to see if you can find an Isaac. Your libraries may have books written about the westward migration or even the Myers of Ohio, etc. Of course, Isaac may not have made it to Ohio. That was just the migration route that he was taking.
