From: "Cathy Simmons" <[email protected]> Date: Wed, 18 Apr 2001 01:39:19 -0000 To: [email protected] Subject: [MYERS-L] Myers/Pile/Pyle Hi, It's been a while since I sent anything out her and hopefully someone out there will have a connection. After researching on the internet I was able to meet a relative in my line and he emailed me this original letter.. If anyone has any information that can help I would greatly appreciate it! I will look forward to hearing from you. I recieved a letter from a Howard Myers Jr. who is a decendant of William Henry Myers son of James J. Myers. The letter was written to his father Howard Myers Sr. several years ago. LETTER AS IT WAS WRITTEN: Morgantown, WVa. 1, March 1980 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Myers, Enclosed you will find all of the information that you asked for. This is all that I have and I hope that it be what is needed. Found this on the MYERS Newsgroup regarding a Jacob MYERS - read on. ***** The Myers Family is a very old family in the U.S. and many of your ancestors fought in the Revolution of 1776. As far as I was able to find out Jacob Myers was with the George Washington Army that was destroyed at Fort Nessessity between Cumberland Maryland and Uniontown, Pa. in 1755. There is no record of him being killed or discharged so I suppose he deserted and settled in the region. In 1772 Springhill Township, Fayette, Pa. where our ancestors were there were living at that time Henry Myers, George Myers, and Ulrick\h Myers. Anyone of these or all could be your ancestor. The Henry Myers that I have record of lived in Preston Co., Va. now W.Va. on the Pa.-W.Va. line near Bruceton Mills where he was born and where I have never been able to find out neither have I found out where he was buried or died. He was twice married and the second marriage was the result of our ancestors. In the first sheet showing Henry Myers and wife Nancy, I have shown the children of the second marriage. The first wife was named ???? Daniels. I have no first name but to this union were several children possible as many as 12 or 14. Several of these children went west prior to and during the gold rush to the west. The enclosed will give you your family back as far as I can go and hope it will help. Signed by Charlie W. Myers **** Please email me if you have any information that could help me with my research!
