    3. Chrystie, I think somewhere in my Lindsey digging I noticed a Lindsey-Myers marriage in Sevier TN, but don't remember specifics. Could have been a posting of yours to [email protected] ??? Since I didn't show a relation to those names, I let it go. There very well could be a Washington Co. VA connection. Lets share information. Have to go to work now. I should be pleased to have such a knowledgeable cousin. Have already learned a lot from you in the two days I have been on this and the Myers list. Thanks. More later. 3. Katie, My ggg's were James Napoleon "N.J." MYERS (seen as MYRES in census records) and Margaret Caroline LINDSEY - both born in TN / died in Sevier County, TN. Margaret, b. April 1845 d. November 14, 1903 Little Cove; resided at Rt 7, Walden's Creek, Little Cove, Sevier Co., TN; buried at HURST Chapel (or so I'm told). She remarried aft James' death to 2) Noah HAYWORTH (Quaker - famiy came across Mtns from Haywood, NC into Sevier) 3) Rev. Evan HURST who founded the HURST Chapel. Evan was m. bef Margaret to Jemima LOVEDAY on July 9, 1863 Sevier CO., TN. Evan, son of Sevier HURST b 1809 d 1870 and Martha UNK b 181 d 1850/54. Alot of HURST existed in Sevier, TN in the 1800's. Margaret, dau of Andrew Jackson "Andy" Lindsey b. Feb 22, 1827 and Mary Elizabeth ROBERTS b. 1818 d. May 13, 1854. Mary Eliz. eventually resides alone according to census as it's assumed either "he" died or remarried, as some records show. Eliz. ROBERTS, dau of Rev. John D. "Rev." Roberts b. 1870 VA d. 1888 Emerts Cove, TN and Eliz. EMERT b. Nov. 27. 1783 d. 1888 same. Andrew, son of Jessie JACKSON b 1816 and Salina IVEY (seen spelled as Liney in census records) b. 1797-1820 d. 1874. I've done alot of reading on the LINDSEY/ROBERTS/EMERTS of east TN and there is a connection to Wash. Co., TN. ** Alot of researchers show Andy's name as A. John LINDSEY but according to Sevierville Library his name shows in different wills as Andy. I've yet to see any of this paperwork other then what is sent to me scanned via email from "Sam" the librarian whom I'm gonna hug someday for putting up with me. James b. April or August of 1839. He died died on March 20, 1894 along the riverbed which flowed through his son, Andrew Jackson "Big Andy" MYERS farmland. Margaret, wondering of his whereabouts searched for him; hence they found him lying dead. I was told that his death was a bit of a mystery but assumed "heart failure" at the age of 54/55 (young). He is buried at the old Holly Springs Primitive Baptist Church, now called Little Cove Church/Cemetery. He actually deeded the land to the church for the land it sits on. He now has a marker on his grave as he was a minister at this church; prior he was a "Circuit Rider" preaching in Sevier to Blount and back again. I still haven't traced all of his tracks, yet, but I'm working on it. He's my main interest - my ggg from Mars. (James' birth is total speculation - born on planet WHOKNOWS. It's speculative that he was adopted from Maryville; or he was the son of Suzannah MOYERS and Enoch WILLOUGHBY - it's an old story but he preached one heck of a sermon during a period in Jefferson Co., Tn when unrest was occuring in the Presbyterian Church; eventually the church did split along with Enoch. I hear that according to "writings" in the McMinnville and Sevierville County Libraries (and Jefferson Co., Historical Society) that Enoch WILLOUGHBY was run out of town due to this one sermon. Wow. James shows in 1840 Jefferson Co., TN Census with: Susan MOYERS (head of household) 30-40 years of age. Mary J. "Clary" MOYERS b. 1831 Sarah E.(lizabeth) MOYERS b. 1836 James shows up again in 1850 Jefferson Co., TN as age 11 with: Susan MOYERS (head of household) 42 years of age. Mary J. "Clary" MOYERS b. 1831 Sarah E.(lizabeth) MOYERS b. 1836 Susan (Suzannah) MOYERS, dau of James David MOYERS b. Mar 27, 1767 Culpeper, VA d. Feb 18, 1838 and Mary Polly BLACKBURN b. Nov 1, 1768 Frederick Co., VA d. 1846. Both died and are buried in White Pine, Jefferson CO., TN. I am told by Sevierville Courthouse; Library and D.A.R. cousins/genealogist/historians in TN that we stem from George MAYER who lived in the 2nd colony of Germanna 1717; he came on the Ship SCOTT; it ship wrecked along the shores of VA; he was not suppose to land there. He was an indentured slave. Most of his family died enroute; he was literally robbed of his money before sailing Europe forcing him to indenture his services for 7 years. P.S. Thanks to the wonderful people that run this board whom showed me the way to my people; really... had it not been for them, I'd not be here on this group right now. -- Chrystie MYERS - ROOTSWEB.COM List Administrator - [email protected] BROOKOVER, COWGER, KRABAL, MOYERS, MYRES, SWECKER
