All I knew when first starting on this quest was of ggg Grandma Catharine MIRES was a German indentured servant on the LINDSEY farm, who married the son of her master. I have since found out she was born ca 1792-97, she married Moses LINDSEY by Primitive Baptist Jones Jones Jr. at Rush Creek Church in Washington Co. VA 1813, and she died sometime after 1860 Washington Co VA census. I at first she was the immigrant, but in my search and learning of the history of the German immigration to Virginia, believe that she was born in VA, (or less likely NC or PA). So her parents or grandparents may be the immigrants... PA Dutch... or VA Germanna settlements. In my search I have found this bit of information, which is but a speculation that may connect or may not.... Is this one of the Germanna settlements in VA? From Chalkey's Chronicles Vol 1, p 523.
