    2. Christy, Do you have the book, "Sketches of Tennessee's Pioneer Baptist Preachers?" I looked in the index for Julius and did not find him. However, there is a James Myers listed in the sketch about Georgia Snider. It does not say much about James except as follows: George Snider moved in the fall of 1821 to Monroe County, and settled on a beautiful farm in the "Hiwassee Purchase. Here he spent the remainder of his life, serving as pastor, for many years, Hopewell, Big Creek, Chestua, and Tellico churches, the last named becoming the Madisonville Church, March, fourth Saturday, 1828, having the recognition of the "presbytery, Elders George Snider and James Myers........" I just thought I would pass this along to you. Dianna

    3. My James MYERS was not born until 1839 but I'm still trying to find his father, though I'm pretty sure he wasn't from this planet. But Hiawassee Georgia, now in Towns County is right on the GA / TN border. Wow. I don't have that book - you say that's abot all it writes of? I know that the SNIDERS, seen spelled by 1850 as SNYDER'S came in from PA; hey, they make great pretzels;) And they're orginal heritage was PA Dutch. -- Chrystie MYERS - ROOTSWEB.COM List Administrator - [email protected] BROOKOVER, COWGER, KRABAL, MOYERS, MYRES, SWECKER > From: [email protected] > Reply-To: [email protected] > Date: Sat, 14 Apr 2001 06:51:13 EDT > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [MOYERS] RE: The American Baptist Historical Society > Resent-From: [email protected] > Resent-Date: Sat, 14 Apr 2001 04:51:25 -0600 > > Christy, > Do you have the book, "Sketches of Tennessee's Pioneer Baptist > Preachers?"
