    3. Oh mi gosh... sounds like another interesting coincidence. I am wondering about the PA connections too. I think I also missed the discussion of the GAY family. My great grandmother, Emogene GAY was born in Meshoppen, Wyoming Co. PA in 1850 and she married a widower farmer from Iowa, James Alexander LINDSEY, whose first wife died shortly after the birth of their son. James was born in Johnson Co. TN 1850 grandson of the Catharine MYERS m. Moses LINDSEY. He ended up in Iowa because of the Civil War, and his parents luckily fled the border warfare which was gruesome in Johnson County TN. Question is, how did a school teacher from PA end up marrying a hillbilly born in TN and living in Iowa? One family story says the old maid school teacher from PA answered a personal ad in the newspaper for a wife because she didn't want to die an old maid. The other family story says they were introduced by mutual friends. What was the connection of friends PA to TN???? Also I am also researching the GAY family (Scots-Irish origin), so am interested in what you got on them. I have some, not thoroughly researched on the Wyoming Co. PA GAY's.... still is one living there now on the old farm. 3. Katie and group, As I started typing a bit more to the book I"m uploading (as I go) on the "History of the Baptists of TN" dating back to the 1700's I was amazed to just type about these Baptists and how they left North Carolina and regrouped (families of over 600+) into the wilderness of "Washington Co., TN". I'm just getting started on this book, will get it up as fast as I can. If you want to start reading it, it's at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~chrystiem/myersfam.html Look under NEW and it should be the 2nd link in the row. Also, look part way down in the list of links and you'll see the MEYER BOOK which I updated lastnight. Just found the Wash. CO., TN interesting ... -- Chrystie MYERS - ROOTSWEB.COM List Administrator - [email protected] BROOKOVER, COWGER, KRABAL, MOYERS, MYRES, SWECKER
