    3. Chrystie, Here goes My mother is a LINDSEY, d/o James Ahira LINDSEY (1890-1958), s/o James Alexander LINDSEY (b 1850 Johnson Co. TN, moved to AL, IO, OK, d. Kingfisher OK 1935, m. (2) Emogene GAY (b 1850 Wyoming Co. PA, moved to IO, OK, d. Oklahoma City, OK 1940. James Alexander is s/o David LINDSEY (b 1813 VA, moved to AL,IO, d 1868 IO, m. Barbara JOHNSON (his first cousin) (b 1817 Carter>Johnson Co. TN, moved to AL>IO, d. 1889 IO). David Lindsey is s/o Moses LINDSEY, Jr. (b ca 1788 VA, lived Washington Co. VA, service in War of 1812, d. after 1860 census, m Catharine MIRES (see below). Moses LINDSEY Jr. is s/o Moses LINDSEY, Sr. (b ?, d before 1812, when Moses Jr. and Catharine were listed as heirs on a Washington Co. VA deed). I believe and would like like to prove more than circumstatially that Moses Sr. is the Moses LINDSEY who m Leticia BRECKENRIDGE 1785 Montgomery Co. VA. Leticia BRECKENRIGE is d/o George BRECKENRIDGE and Ann DOAK.... more available in that line. Ann DOAK is 1st cousin to Rev. Samuel DOAK, the Presbyterian minister who pioneered in Tennessee. My most wanted UNK ancestors are the parents of Catharine MIRES who married Moses LINDSEY in Washington Co. VA Sep 5, 1813 at Rush Creek Primitive Baptist Church near Glade Spring (Lodi). Catharine would have been born Circa 1792-7 anywhere from Germany to PA to VA or NC, and is on Washington Co. VA. census up to 1860. Family legend has it that Catharine was an indentured servant on Lindsey land (which I have found out since was in probably in Montgomery Co. VA). I would like to see if there are any court records for her indenture. She married the son of her employer. One theory I have is that she may be the daughter of Peter and Catherine MOYERS, and may be the Catherina baptized at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Rural Retreat, Montgomery>Wythe Co. VA on Apr 6, 1797 - born Oct 1796 possibly in NC or VA. I found this from: http://www.naxs.com/people/cameron/PAULBP.HTM (Check out this site if you have any Moyers or other German Lutherans who may have been in the New River area of Virginia or NC after 1790.) There are links to a few other early German Lutheran churches in the same area. The interesting fact about this church for me is that there are both Lindsey and Myers burials there from (I think) Civil war times. Don?t know of any connection, these were of later generations than my Lindseys and Myers. Just curious. (I wish that all the churches with historical birth, baptism, marriage, and burial records plus lists of elders, minutes of meetings would post them on such a wonderful web site. Could generate donations for them from descendents joyous at finding an ancestor, don?t you think?) Anyway, there it is.... There may be more clues to your line through the church history, and migration patterns. I will send the research I have done on Samuel Doak and the early Presbyterian Church. I don't know how the Sevier Co. TN Lindsey's connect to mine, but possibly they do. Any ideas on my Catharine?
