    3. Chrystie, Helen, I have more information on the early history of these Presbyterians in Tennessee (and VA) if you are interested. Rev. Samuel Doak's cousin, Ann Doak may be my gggg grandfather Moses Lindsey Sr.'s mother-in-law, making her my ggggg grandmother. Anyway, that's part of the info I am supposed to be sending you later about the Lindsey-Myers connections in Washington Co. VA. (Don't make the mistake I did once and confuse the Washington Counties in TN and VA). They are different, but these same Presbyterians show up in both places. They didn't stay put. Really got to go to work. 3. THIRTY FIVE YEARS AGO WHEN I STARTED TO LEARN HOW TO RESEARCH, THERE WERE TWO THINGS THAT I LEARNED THE FIRST DAY. JUN AND JNO AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT EITHER ONE OF THEM STOOD FOR. THEY TOLD ME THAT JUN STOOD FOR JUNIOR AND THAT JNO STOOD FOR JOHN. I COULD UNDERSTAND THE JUN FOR JUNIOR BUT COULD NOT FIGURE WHY NOT USE JR. AS I HAD SEEN IT WRITTEN. ALSO, I HAD A COUSIN NAMED JOHN HERSCHEL AND I HAD NEVER SEEN HIS NAME AS JNO BUT WHEN I ASKED MY AUNT, SHE SAID YES, I WRITE JNO FOR JOHN ALL THE TIME IN LETTERS. IF THAT HELPS, BUT AGAIN JR. WAS WHAT IT MEANT WHEN I WENT TO SCHOOL BUT SHE SAID NO, JUN WAS FOR JUNIOR LONG TIME AGO. THANKS FOR THE INFO ON MATTHEW....I JUST COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING TO AMOUNT TO ANYTHING..WILL PULL OUR MY MATTHEW FAMILY FILE AND SEE ABOUT THE WILL OR ESTATE THING THAT I HAVE. APPRECIATE THIS INFO SO VERY MUCH....THANKS AND MANY BLESSINGS OF THE DAY. HELEN.

    3. Katie, I'd love to read more re: the Presbyterian's of Washington Co., TN. Did you know that not only is there a First Presbyterian Church a few miles from the Pigeon Forge area of TN; but there is also a Pigeon Forge River in Washington Co., PA near a church of similiar name. Alot of the same surnames exist in both areas and I always wondered of the connection. -- Chrystie MYERS - ROOTSWEB.COM List Administrator - [email protected] BROOKOVER, COWGER, KRABAL, MOYERS, MYRES, SWECKER

    3. KATIE, I INTENDED TO TELL YOU THAT WHEN I CAN'T FIND ANY OF MY FAMILY, THERE ARE THREE PLACES THAT I START...THE QUAKERS, AND IF YOU HAVE PEOPLE IN ALABAMA, TENNESSEE AND GEORGIA, THE BEST PLACE TO LOOK IF YOU CAN'T FIND THEM ON THE CENSUS IS FLORIDA. I FINALLY LEARNED THAT MY SIMS LINE WAS FOUND IN FLORIDA AND WAS TOLD THAT IF THEY LIVED IN ALABAMA, GEORGIA OR TENNESSEE, THEY WERE SENT DOWN TO FLORIDA TO FIGHT IN THE INDIAN CREEK WAR. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD THROW THAT IN, FOR MANY PEOPLE NEVER THINK TO LOOK THERE....THEY HAVE A LOT THAT YOU POSSIBLY COULD BE MISSING. BLESSINGS, HELEN.
