Do any of these names sound familiar: Emily Jane Myers, b. 1852 in Ohio. Her parents were Levi Myers and Eleanor Tolls, both born in Virginia. Levi was born in Edom, Rockingham Co. VA. Levi and Eleanor also had: Julia Ann b. around 1861 in Ohio or St. Joseph County. The rest of their children were born in Virginia: Furius Camelus Myers Erasmus Myers Sara E. Myers Marilyn >
Thanks, Marilyn for answering my message. None of the persons you mentioned mean anything to me because I don't have enough information to go on. I don't know my grandfathers parents names, so until I find that out, I am groping in the dark. I will have to keep looking until I can find them. There are so many Jacob Myerses it is hard to decide which one you are looking for. Thanks again for your help. My maternal side's MYERS connection is defineately traced as such. They came from PA; migrated into old VA, what is now Randolph, Wetzel, Tyler, Harrison counties of WV; some traveled back and forth into OH, back to WV because they had family already there; and even into western MD - one reason was that alot of them were either a) trying to grab land grants b) lumber and coal mining jobs traveling wherever the jobs opened up for them. And some of my MYERS (above) had their surnames spelled as MOYER too. They married into many different names but if you can pinpoint the county they might have been in you can follow the surname pattern around them. Such as Randolph Co., VA/WV. In Randolph County surnames connected to MOYERS/MYERS are: REXROAD ARBOGAST SYNDER/SNIDER WAYBRIGHT THOMAS BROOKOVER LEMLEY WARNER PUGH RITCHIE (seen in areas of Germanna) and many many more. Thank god old VA areas kept alot of documentation as well as PA and MD. -- Chrystie MYERS - ROOTSWEB.COM List Administrator - [email protected] BROOKOVER, COWGER, KRABAL, MOYERS, MYRES, SWECKER
