Hi everyone, I'd like to wish everyone good fortune in the new year 2001. Wow, we made it, huh. Holly from the MOYERS group reminded me of something that I thought was worthy of mentioning again. Any of us can use our internet "browser" such as Netscape and or Internet Explorer to "Ftp" to other sites online that allow users to sign-in under "annonymous users" to get into file "servers" that have loads, I mean tons of files such as genealogy programs in most any format from PC to MAC and then some. Many of us assume that "http" is the only "protocol" that we have at our disposal "out here" but "Ftp" meaning "file transfer protocol" is just another format, nothing to fear. Today I downloaded the 1880 census for TN, WV and GA. If anyone would like a copy, just email me and I'll send it to you. I can't send any type of file in text format, which is how we communicate here on the Rootsweb's Newsgroups, but, I can send it to anyone at their personal email address. Just in case you don't want to fool with "ftping". Again, happy new year and I look foward to another good year. By the way, those "Myfamily.com" sites are doing fairly good all.Keep up the good work. Chrystie MYERS List Adm. for the Roostweb Newsgroups

crissy...is it possible to still get the 1880 census that you have. i would appreciate it. if it is too much trouble, then just forget it.... i think that we are keeping mom alive by keeping a trip in our program of plans. we took her to ft. worth to see the gaither singers. our next planned trip is to see a nephew that has had a stroke and one that mom is very fond of. he is really my father's nephew but though she is having many problems, we have found that she perks up when she thinks about the trip. sissy said if she dies during or on the trip, she will have died doing what she love doing best....going...going and more going. giggle. we will do everything in our power to keep her happy and something to look forward to beside trying to die. she loved going to bennigans before we went in to hear the gaithers sing and has told everyone that was the highlight of the day. love, hugs and blessings to all...helen.
