    3. crissy...is it possible to still get the 1880 census that you have. i would appreciate it. if it is too much trouble, then just forget it.... i think that we are keeping mom alive by keeping a trip in our program of plans. we took her to ft. worth to see the gaither singers. our next planned trip is to see a nephew that has had a stroke and one that mom is very fond of. he is really my father's nephew but though she is having many problems, we have found that she perks up when she thinks about the trip. sissy said if she dies during or on the trip, she will have died doing what she love doing best....going...going and more going. giggle. we will do everything in our power to keep her happy and something to look forward to beside trying to die. she loved going to bennigans before we went in to hear the gaithers sing and has told everyone that was the highlight of the day. love, hugs and blessings to all...helen.

    1. [MOYERS] Elias Moyers of Union Co IL
    2. Anderson
    3. Elias Moyers, born around 1762, came to Union Co IL by 1828, when he applied for a Rev War pension there. His declaration is posted at the Union County pensions page at http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Il/UnionPens/47 . He may have come to Illinois directly from the area of Cabarrus Co NC with the Meisenheimer and/or Cruse families, some of whom arrived in Union County by 1820. I suspect he was the Elias "Moyer" listed in the 1790 census of Mecklenburg Co NC. He is not to be confused with Elias "Myers" Sr. or Jr., both of whom were listed in Lincoln Co NC in 1790. According to a submission to the LDS Ancestral File, in 1775 in Rowan Co NC an Elias "Miars" married Magdalena Cruse, whose brothers Peter and John Adam Cruse came to Union County. The Elias of this marriage may have been somehow related to the Elias born around 1762. I would like to hear from anyone who has any information on Elias or his family. I'm not related to him, just interested in him as a Revolutionary War veteran resident in Union County. Andy Anderson

    2. I am catching up on some e-mail and going through the MOYERS list dated 1/20/01 and the Wendel SWECKER linage is given. << Mary "Polly" SWECKERb.1803 in Rockingham m. 1827 to Abraham VAUGHT.....>> Abraham VAUGHT'S grandfather, Andrew VAUGHT was an uncle of Christopher MOYERS JR. (of Jefferson Co. TN.) This is how: John Paul & Maria Catharine VOGT/VAUGHT One daughter , Mary Catharine VAUGHT, married Christopher MOYER ( son of the 1717 Germanna Va. Immigrants ,George & Anna Barbara Moyer) A son Andrew VAUGHT b. c1721 m. Elizabeth _____moved c late 1760's from Agusta/Rockingham Co Va.to what was then part of Botetourt Co. Va. and today is Wythe Co. Va. i. George VAUGHT b. c 1745 m. c1781/2 Christina Phillippi in Rockingham Co. Va. i. ABRAHAM VAUGHT m. Mary (Polly) SWECKER 24 July 1827 in Wythe Co. Va. [ An interesting item about Andrew VAUGHT is the fact that he and some of his 7 sons were Loyalists during the Revolution. During the trials after the war , Andrew's sons John, David and Andrew were released for good behavior but were fined 1,000 pounds each. In 1790 , they moved to TN., perhaps to keep from paying such heavy fines or because they already had relatives in that state. Probably both.] Nancy Moyers Dodge
