    3. Gale, You're right about Winchester and Frederick Co. Frederick and Augusta Co.'s were formed from Orange Co. in 1738, then Augusta divided into several others including Fincastle (now extinct), which was split into Montgomery and Washington Co.'s in 1776. Do a Google search for G. Lee Hearl for the best break down of VA counties that I've seen. Think our Peters are probably different. What other VA counties did you find for yours? 3. Bobbye, I've been doing alot more reading, lately, regarding "landing spots" along the east coast. There were alot of settlers whom immigrated in above PA and upon arrival they immediately made their ways down into PA, as well as NJ and NY. Have you looked into these areas. Other spots could very well be MD and VA. In the mid 1600's the Thomas TODD arrived in Jamestown, only to head immediately to Baltimore County, MD. He purchased 1700 acres from the King of England prior to arrival, which many did in the 1600 and 1700's. Just a thought for ya! 3. Katie, The 1770 and 1777 Peters are new to me. From 1752 Peter's pension application, he states that in 1793, he removed to Winchaster VA where he lived for 23 years (until 1816). Is Winchaster in Montgomery or Wythe County? (should that be Winchester - I should look). In one line of some research done by a cousin, there's a mention of possibly 10 children for 1752 Peter probably born between 1785 - 1805. I've only seen 5 possible sons, Jacob, Peter Jr., Samuel, Henry and George mentioned. I have no wives names until my Jacob b. 1805 who, by the way, named his first daughter b. 1840, Catherine. 2. I can find no proof that immigrant Peter b. 1727 was ever in Lincoln Co. TN. One researcher (not on line) found that immigrant Peter died in Bethel Township, Berks Co. PA in 1787. To me, it looks as if 1752 Peter b. in Bucks Co. s/o immigrant Peter b. 1720's Germany is the one that came to Lincoln Co. ca. 1818 with his son Peter Jr. and the one that lived to be "old" in Lincoln Co. (listed in the 1830 census, 70 - 80). He also seems a more likely candidate to be the father of Jacob, Samuel, Henry, and Peter Jr. (born in the 1780's - 1805) than immigrant Peter. Do you have a record of immigrant Peter (b. 1727) having been in the Revolutionary War or having been in Lincoln Co.? I've only been able to find Peter Sr.'s (b. 1752 s/o immigrant Peter) record.
