    3. I love the Olive Tree Site. I have spent so much time running newsgroups; and mainly keeping 2,400 pages updated and nowhere near done, that I don't know what it is to "surf around"! LOL Sometimes, rare, I do head over to google.com and conduct a search. My site always comes up. I then quit, as a rule. But I love the Olive Tree - I think I'll hang out there tonight and enjoy a bit. Chrystie List Admin.

    3. The below MOYER of Winchester might very well be the MOYERS lines I found last summer in Winchester and Stephens City. MYERS existed in this town, as well, but were separate from MOYER(S). Both lines did come in from PA. But at separate times. MYERS came in w/LEMLEY"S and others. Hist. Society was not as well documented on MOYER line. -- Chrystie - Lists Administrator for Rootsweb BROOKOVER, COWGER, KRABAL, MAYORS, MAJOR, MOYERS, MYRES Home of MYERS GENEALOGY.COM > From: "Edward Wallen" <edwall@ccaonline.com> > Reply-To: MOYERS-L@rootsweb.com > Date: Sun, 24 Mar 2002 08:35:12 -0600 > To: MOYERS-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [MOYERS] Another Jacob > Resent-From: MOYERS-L@rootsweb.com > Resent-Date: Sun, 24 Mar 2002 07:34:13 -0700 > > Peter Moyer/etc. b 1752 in Berks Co. 2. Chrystie, I am searching for information on Jacob MOYERS 1792-1866 of Lycoming Co. (Williamsport/Jersey Shore areas I think) PA. He was married to a Martha Clark. His youngest daughter, Margery, was my gggrandmother. She married Duncan H. CAMPBELL in January of 1865. If there's anyone out there descended from Jacob, I'd like to hear from them. Cindy in OKC

    3. In early Lutheran Baptisms and Marriages Records found in Lebanon (SE) PA; written and recorded by the Rev. John Casper STOEVER from 1730 to 1779: Henrich/Henrick MAYER MEYER was recorded under births and marriage pre 1740¹s, leaving all possibilities out that he was the Henrick mentioned in last nights posting as the writer stated the ship arrived in 1765, much later then this Henrich whom was a decendant of the MAYER / MAJER line that came in thru Annapolis MD, migrating into Frederick Town, Frederick County (once Baltimore) Maryland where Myersville now stands; and later migrating into PA. -- Chrystie - Lists Administrator for Rootsweb BROOKOVER, COWGER, KRABAL, MAYORS, MAJOR, MOYERS, MYRES Home of MYERS GENEALOGY.COM

Johan and Johann and Hans were favorites. These men never went by their first names but went by their 2nd (given) names. Therefore, each Johan/Johann or Hans listed could have never gone by or used that name in later records. That was the only mention of a ship from Holland or Rotterdam, or with "Palatines". The 20th of October 1747 was a Tuesday, not a Monday. It is possible that the ship could have arrived on the 19th, and the passengers didn't come ashore until the next day, hence the date on the list. I rechecked the microfilm of the original ship's list at the Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg, but there were no clues to the identity of the ship on the lists, only the date of 20 OCT 1747 and that the ship sailed from Rotterdam, which is in Holland. The only Captain Abercrombie mentioned in "Pennsylvania German Pioneers" was James Abercrombie. He was the captain of the Lydia when it arrived on 19 SEP 1743. The next time the Lydia arrived was on 24 SEP 1747, and William Tiffin had taken over as its captain. James Abercrombie appears as captain of the ship St. Andrew on 9 SEP 1749, 14 SEP 1751, and on 23 SEP 1752, the only dates in that time interval when the St. Andrew appears on the Philadelphia ship lists. Reason that is. Because my Ggrandfather and his siblings never knew their fathers name although he was a 'Moyers' i have one doc. that identifies him only as 'J Moyers' and that is all i can find, i've gotten marriage cert. census records even death cert. and nothing on what the dudes given name is. a researcher from the LDS placed him with a Henry Moyers on one of their cd's Henry is a son of peter daniel. But then i've found other records that says that Henry and his wife were childless and passed away in Ballard co. KY. so you can see the brickwall i'm up against? Perhaps i should try to find info on all of peter daniels sons children that names start with the letter 'J' and see where they went from KY? perhaps looking for links backward in time is the wrong direction for me, perhaps i should start with peter daniel and forward in time with the sons who's names start with the letter 'J'? i did see a census awhile back of a John Moyers br in KY in a 1860 census for Franklin co. IL but his childrens names are all wrong, although i think he was married to a Stagner gal br. in KY. so your guess is good as mine. later, jason At 05:41 PM 03/24/2002, you wrote: >Jason, > I think your answer might lie in a message board on MSN call Descendents >of Peter Daniel Moyers. 3. I thin I'm going to look into the ship below for more info. The names are really bugging me. Henrick and the date. And there's another Jacob on there as well... Obviously German. Could be Reformed Lutherans.... Brethren but very staunch surnames, wouldn't you say. -- Chrystie - Lists Administrator for Rootsweb BROOKOVER, COWGER, KRABAL, MAYORS, MAJOR, MOYERS, MYRES Home of MYERS GENEALOGY.COM > From: GarryMyers@aol.com > Reply-To: MOYERS-L@rootsweb.com > Date: Sat, 23 Mar 2002 22:04:38 EST > To: MOYERS-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [MOYERS] Ship Princess Augusta Sept 1763 > Resent-From: MOYERS-L@rootsweb.com > Resent-Date: Sat, 23 Mar 2002 20:04:41 -0700 > > Chrystie, > What is already known about the people who traveled on this ship? 3. I don't know if anyone is interested, but I have a list of all Meyer/variations on Palatine ships to Philadelphia from 1727-1749. I also have those listed from the Olive Tree site through 1752 but haven't made it back to the library to get the ships' lists not included at Olive Tree. Would be glad to send it. Gale
