Have found him in the 1900 Census in Mo-Wright Co.- Mountain Grove Twp. He is 66 years old and said he was born in KY. Also found at USGenWeb Missouri Wright Co. Union Soldiers site: William Coates, Born March 1834 in Ken. buried in Hillcrest Cemetery. He was in Co. H, 46th Mo. Inf. Do you have any info on William's children? I think my Dad descends from Christopher Columbus Coats, son of William. Have found Census info for Columbus Coats in Barry County that ties in, but cannot find Columbus anywhere else - or his wife Julia A. Coats (Coates) who remarried in 1909 to a Mr. O. A.
