I know there are a number of descendants who have been researching Albert Grogan--with little new information. Just stumbled over something on Ancestry, which was positively thrilling. Wayne Grogan (not from the Wright County line, but who includes all Grogans on his site) submitted to Ancestry information on Albert's son, Bradley Grogan (b TN about 1840). Bradley is listed as Ambrose Bradley, so I'm hopeful that whomever sent the information to Wayne knew more than just what we'd found in the 1850 census (only place Bradley was shown with his family). Apparently Bradley moved to Williamson County, Illinois about the time his parents and siblings went on to Wright County. He served in the Civil War from Illinois, married and had at least nine children with first wife Juliana White (b TN 1841) and one with second wife. His children are listed on Wayne's pages on Rootsweb http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mwgrogan& id=I11967 I've abandoned everything else I should be doing, and have been trying to track down his descendants. Have had minimal luck, thanks to the lack of spelling talent of the census takers in 1920. Have also found one error--site says that Bradley's Daughter Maude, who married Robert Pride, died in 1917. I found that's incorrect; she was still living in 1920, and by 1930 Robert and Maude had relocated to Los Angeles to live with their son Leo. (My mother, a Grogan/Fletcher/Smith/Burton, would have been horrified. Leo is listed as an actor in 1920, and a screenwriter in 1930. Have found information on several of the other children. If anyone else is working on this family will be delighted to share and compare. Linda Dewey San Francisco Researching in Wright County: Burton, Grogan, Fletcher, Smith. In Webster County: Burton
