I have this information on Dr. Hoots: From "Descendants of Jacob Hoots," by Carl Casper Hoots: (from a letter of a neighbor, Mattie Brown, after John's death) "Dr. John practiced medicine in Douglas County, Missouri. His patients thought of him as being a very good doctor, warm, sympathetic and understanding of their needs. It has been said that he never refused to render his services because the patient was not able to pay. He retired in 1914." Does anyone have information on Dr. Hoots? I am particularly interested in when and where he received his medical education and training.
