I am hoping to find someone that knows more about the Montgomery Cemetery on Montgomery Ford road in Wright Co, MO. Our relatives, John E O'Quinn & his wife, Sarah Jane Mizer are buried there. We went there today and didn't find their stones. Maybe someone will know about where they are located and have a cemetery listing. Maybe someone in the Manes community can give my any type of information about them and where they might of went to church or lived. Thanks. Diane O'Quinn doquinn@centurytel.net
www.genseekers.com is at it again. This group charges you to access their information (via password) and then provides links to free sites. You have to give them your bank account number, or a credit card number, so they can bill you. The guarantee that you can cancel at any time, but the cancellation notice bounces. One person has already had her account hit twice, although she only looked once and was disgusted to be linked to what she knows to be free sites. Phyllis Rippee Wright County Historical Society
Wright County marriage records were destroyed when the courthouse burned the last of February 1897. Some marriage records were listed in Goodspeed's History published in 1889.......they are on line on the Wright County site. Also, some marriages appeared in the old newspapers that are available on microfilm. The very earlies of these available are also on line at the same place. Unless someone has a record book kept by a minister of the gospel, or a justice of the peace, or a family Bible, records prior to the ones on line are not available. Hello, I inherited my grandmother's pictures and found a picture of Horace Davis. Looks to be around 1917, possibly earlier. Also found a newspaper clipping - no name or date of paper on a Lowell M. Davis, who was killed in a bomber crash. The survivors list Horace as his brother. I would give these items to anyone who can prove they are related. Below the article is transcribed. Thank you Susan Martin SGT. Lowell M. Davis Dies in Bomber Crash - Staff Sgt. Lowell M. Davis, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Monroe Davis, of Mansfield, died in Macon, Ga., from injuries received when a B-24 bomber overshot a landing field at the airport there. Seven other members of the crew were killed instantly, and another injured. Sergeant Davis entered the service about two years ago, and was on active duty in the Mediterrian (sic) theater until last winter. Part time of his overseas duty was spent being interned in Spain along with other members of a bomber crew when their plane made a forced landing in that country. Survivors besides the parents, are two brothers, First Lt. Harold Davis of the Army Air Corps, and Horace of St. Louis, and two sisters, Helen Carol and Thelma Ruth, both of the home.
Hi, Since someone was asking for a marriage look-up, could I have a look for Riley B. Henry to Rose Trent in 1881? Wright co. Thanks!
I was wondering if someone could look in the Wright Co. records on a marriage of Martha Jane Whitson & Joseph O'Quin(n) for me. I thought they were married in Laclede Co, but can't find a record. They lived close to Wright Co, so maybe they went there. I believe they were married sometime around 1860. Could be before then though. Joseph was born in 1836 but didn't move to Mo until the early 1850's.......Hope someone can solve this mystery for us. Thank-You, Diane O'Quinn

A. Stood for Aphraim Cantrell who married Jane (Unknown) I have not found him after 1850 but I did find one of his brothers in Arkansas......There was a Duke Cantrell living in another county, (maybe the son of Aphraim) but since that time have lost that information......Aphraim was probably spelled differently in later census records..... Update on Wright County Historical Society President, Clyde Rowen: After doing a cat scan, the Dr. told him that he thought it was a pulled muscle and prescribed two medications. This was on Friday and he was to return to the Dr. on Monday. On Monday, he was feeling somewhat better and the Dr. told him to come back in two weeks. Yesterday, Clyde went to his regular Dr. That Dr. told Clyde that there is a possibility that he has an abdominal anuerysm. He is to go tomorrow for some kind of abdominal work.....as an out-patient. In the meanwhile, please continue praying and holding good thoughts for him. Phyllis
