I have found that my library has online access to some censuses through Heritage Quest. I don't know how long they have had this service; I only found out about it 2 or 3 weeks ago. Try going to your library's webpage and see if they have online databases. Then all you need to do is enter your bar code on your library card. Good luck. P. Coffman, Sikeston, Stoddard County, MO on the back. The card was about the size of a business card. We would like to know if it is a photographer or a studio, and what years it was in business in order to date the tintypes. We believe them to be 1865-1875.

Fairview Cemetery in Wright County is located in Section 25 of Mountain Grove Township. There is a Nancy Davis buried there. Her dates are Dec 17, 1827-Feb. 21, 1902. No William J. Davis, or Robert Elvin Ishmael. However, the Mountain Grove Journal, November 20, 1908 had a "Resolution of Respect" for "our beloved brother, William J. Davis, who died October 24, 1908." Also, in Mountain Grove Journal of February 28, 1902: "The death of Mrs. Nancy Davis, wife of Wiliam Davis, a well-known citizen of Douglas Coutny, occurred last Saturday at the family home, six miles from Mountain Grove. Deceased was 74 years of age and was highly repected and esteemed by her friends and neighbors. She leaves a husband, three sons, two daughters to mourn her demise. The funeral occurred last Sunday at Fairview Church, services being conducted by Rev. C. V. Shutenberger, after which the body was interred in the Fairview Cemetery." Will look for Ishmael, but no marker for him in either Fairview, Hillcrest, Swedish, or Old Cemetery. (Latter three in Mountain Grove.) This info from cemetery records compiled by Gloria Bogart Carter and a book of excerpts from Mountain Grove papers by Laine Sutherland. Phyllis Rippee Wright County Historical Society
Yes, Hershel, it's southeast of Mountain Grove, near what was Ann, in Clinton Township, Douglas County. Laine Sutherland did a book that included this cemetery several years ago, but she did not have a grave for anyone named "Davis" in that cemetery. She does note several unmarked graves. Laine's book covers the eastern half of Douglas County - the only ISHMAEL she found was at Denlow, southwest of Mountain Grove. Ermal E. Ishmael, daughter of W.R and Josie Ishmael, 22 Jan 1888 - 27 Feb 1906. Hope this helps!
