John will be remembered as a loving family man who proudly served his country in World War II and will be greatly missed. He will be remembered locally as the last of the Martin Family of Cub Creek to carry on the family tradition of Maple Syrup Making. Besides his parents Lewis and Pearl Martin, John was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora June (Shipp) Martin and six siblings; Arthur "Bob" Martin, Dorothy Hornsey, Mildred Wilkinson, Galena Miller, Margaret O'Hanlon and Wilma Worthington. Survivors include four children, Steve (wife Carolyn) Martin, Jana (husband Denis) Karanjeff, Scott (Lori) Martin and Stanton Martin; seven grandchildren, Mikayla, Jamie, Christopher, Daniel, Brandon, Nathan and Rachel; one great grandchild, Michael; two sisters, Nina Ohrenberg and Maxine Evans; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation was set for 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Bellerive Funeral Home, 740 N. Mason Rd., Creve Coeur, MO 63141. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 601 Claymont Dr., Ballwin, MO. Private entombment at Bellerive Cemetery, Creve Coeur. Memorials may be made to Mid-American Transplant Services, 1110 Highland Plaza Drive East, Suite 100, St. Louis, MO 63110.
