I'd recommend going to the courthouse. They have a large index from around 1821 - 1870. You can look up the names that you want & it will tell you which deed book to look in. After 1870 you will have to look in different index books. The last time I was there (a few months ago) I was charged $1.00 per copy. No cameras or tape recorders are allowed. But you can copy, by hand, excerpts from the deeds as you are allowed to take in a tablet & pen. If you have any questions or help with anything just ask the ladies in the office - they are very nice. Esther M.
