Genevieve ever seen the name Shingles or Shingler Tanyard? This was a tanyard that my gggrandfather, Nicholas Hartzell was superintending this tanyard for Peter Kimmell in 1814. I have never found anything about the tanyard except the name once in a court documents. I haven't been to the library in a few years, but I know there was an index book that had all the names of persons listed on microfilm. I never did check the Tanyard name as I hadn't totally read the documents I printed until I got home. Other names I was checking around 1814 were Goza and Staples. Thank you,
