I was looking on ancestry.com under my great grandfather Zeno Portell who was married to Mary Cornelia Trokey and someone has attached themselves to this family. This disturbs me when people assume that a partial name could be their ancestors. Not in Washington Co. those wonderful surnames like, Boyer, Portell, Coleman, Pashia, Bequette etc have to be really researched. I left this comment and I didn't mean to be rude, but I wanted to let the person know that John Thomas _Ronquest_ (javascript:$trees.util.gotoPerson(235 15661,1396438947);) (1865-1935) was not married to Mary Louise Portell, daughter of Zeno and Mary Cornelia Portell. "I am confused. You show this Mary Louise Portell as Zeno and Mary Cornelia Trokey Portell's daughter, but the death certificate shows Mary Ronquest and her parents are Nora Portell and ? Portell. Zeno and Mary had a daughter, Mary Louise born May 1872, died 17 Jan 1959. The death certificate you show is a different death date, 23 Sept 1959. I don't think this is the same Mary Louise Portell cause I remember her when I was young. Mary Louise was my grandmother Gertrude Portell Boyer, Annie Mercille, Victoria Tucker, Nellie Whaley, Lorena Mills, Gus and Joe Portell's sister. Mary Louise married Eugene Osia 05 Dec 1893 when she was 21. You have her married twice, once to Thomas Request as her first husband and then Eugene Osia. That would be impossible as Nelson Charles Ronquest is born 1891 and Mary Louise was not born until 1893." Mary Louise Portell was married to Eugene Osia 5 Dec 1893 and had 2 sons, Silas born 1893 and Clarence born 1909. If anyone know of this family would you please let the Ronquest know these are not the same Portell's. I don't think I am overlooking something, I did just find a death certificate for a Nora Portell who died 1926 married to John Portell and the informant was Nelson Ronquest. So this can't be the same family.
