Since so much has been sent to find Cicero, I want to ask if anyone would know where Brazil Creek got it's name? Were there any Brazil/Brazel/Brassel/Braswell people early in that area?
My Skaggs ancestors, Sealy & James Skaggs, brought an adopted son with them from Indiana to this area in the late 1830's or early 1840's. His name was Henry Willis Brazeal & was probably pronounced Brazil. Don't know if he has anything to do with the name of the town & creek or not. I have a picture of what I think is the old Brazil Store. A cousin took me there years ago & we were allowed to go inside & look around. I took a picture of the building but never labled the picture. Awhile back I found the picture & I am pretty sure it is the Brazil Store but am hoping some else might be able to verify it. http://carrollscorner.net/OldBrazilStorePhotographed1980s.JPG ----- Original Message ----- From: Patricia Weeks To: MOWASHIN-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2005 11:10 PM Subject: [MOWASHIN-L] Brazil Creek Since so much has been sent to find Cicero, I want to ask if anyone would know where Brazil Creek got it's name?
