He passed away June 11, 1978 in Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of 99 years, 10 months and 13 days. Mr. Boyer, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday in just 48 days, was a life long resident of Washington County. He was united in marriage to Mary Blanche Boyer and eight children were born to this union. His wife preceded him in death as did three sons, Lawrence Jr., Edgar and Jess Boyer and one daughter, Mary Grace Boyer. Those who remain to mourn his passing are, one son, Walter of Rt. 2, Cadet; three daughters, Virginai Jackson of St. Louis, Millie Juliette and Lucille Boyer, both of Rt. 2, Cadet, 22 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Parish Rosary was recited at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 13th Sparks Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wed., June 14 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, with Rev. Robert Rosebrough officiating. Interment was in St. Joachim Cemetery under the direction of the Britton Bros. (Sparks) Funeral Home of Potosi. Found article in a book of obituaries that were cut out at the Washington County Library, Potosi, Mo. Typed obit as it was shown, possibly a few mispelled words/names.
