She departed this life Sunday, June 11, 2005 at Georgian Gardens Nursing Center in Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-one years, three months and eighteen days. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Dorothy Hampton and husband Shelby of Belgrade; granddaughter Angela Midgett and husband Peter of Belgrade; two great-grandchildren; Preston and Kelsey Midgett; a brother Newton W. Aldridge and wife Jen of St. Charles, Missouri, other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by two husbands; Dempsey Perry in April 1970, and Fred Huster on April 21, 1997; three brothers; Sam, John and Charles Aldridge and three sisters; Mary Slayton, Sara Meyers and Myrtle Montgomery. Dorothy enjoyed cooking many wonderful foods, among her favorites were fried chicken, pies, cakes, cookies and making jelly. She also loved to spend time gardening and canning food. Dorothy had a passion for dancing, as soon as she heard music she would head straight to the dance floor. Among Dorothy's many activities, she enjoyed attending the Potosi Senior Center Bingo and attended the Pilot Knob Baptist Church in Pilot Knob, Missouri. Dorothy was a very wonderful woman and will be deeply missed by her friends and family. Visitation was held Monday, June 13, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, June 14, 2005 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel in Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Firmin Gettinger officiating. Burial took place at Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
