Her father is a "Mr. Goforth", first name unknown. Nancy's mother is Abigail HARRIS (b. 6 May 1818 in Greene County, Tennessee), daughter of John HARRIS & Abigail GRAGG. Mr. GOFORTH & Abigail HARRIS married in Missouri in 1836. They divorced. Abigail (2) married Stephen SHELTON (b. 9 Mar 1809 in NC), Stephen "adopted" Nancy. She was often known as Nancy SHELTON. She married Thomas MANTLE (b. 1 May 1836 in Brighton,England) in 1857. He is the son of Llewellyn MANTLE & Catherine WATKINS. Thomas MANTLE & Nancy Sarilda GOFORTH SHELTON had a daughter Margaret Abigail MANTLE b 6 May 1881 Margaret married Thomas Johnson Jenkins, son of David JENKINS & Lydia Ann BECKSTEAD. Abigail HARRIS GOFORTH SHELTON (3) married John McKee FAUSETT, son of Richard FAUSETT & Mary McKEE. Abigail & John had Charley Edward FAUSETT on 10 Dec 1856. Charley never married.
