"Maw-Maw" Daugherty, 87, of DeSoto, was born in Washington County, February 8, 1918, a daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Cattlett) Recar and died Saturday, November 5, 2005 at The Villas, DeSoto. She is survived by three sons, Lawrence "Larry" (wife Debbie) Daugherty, Jr., Dennis Daugherty and Roy "Gene" Daughtery, all of DeSoto; two sisters, Helen Jackson, DeSoto and Jean Chazelle, Potosi; two sisters-in-law, Helen Recar and Ilene Klaus; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, other relatives and other friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Eric Daugherty, Sr., four brothers, Bernard, Michael, Lawrence and Robert Recar, and two sisters, Sister May Alda Recar and Rachel Recar. She was a member of VFW Post 3777, American Legion 253, Eagles Lodge and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, DeSoto. Funeral service was at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2005 from St. Rose of Lima Church with Rev. Ron Hopmeir celebrating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, DeSoto.
