She was born February 17, 1929 at Belleview, Missouri, a daughter of the late Clarence Frank and Artie Elizabeth (Burton) Shelton. Martha was united in marriage to Carl Buford Airsman October 23, 1959. Carl preceded her in death on February 20, 1996. Martha was a member of Furnace Creek Church of God and a member of TYRO Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, She was a dear sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents and hsuband, Martha was preceded in death by two sisters; Mary Sadler Friese and Pauline Day and five brothers, Ralph, Cruise, Frank and C.F. Shelton and Clifford Hicks. Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life include her son, James Airsman of Lone Oak, Kentucky; two foster sons, Thomas Dodd and Virgill Dodd; two brothers, Tom Shelton and wife Jo Anne of Ocala, Florida and Walter Shelton and wife Janice of Bismarck; two sisters, Helen Stampler of Park Hills and Kathryn Buesking of Potosi; one granddaughter; nieces; nephews; cousins and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2005 at the Britton Funeral Chapel, Potosi, with Jerald Creamer officiating. Honoring Martha as pallbearers were: Rick Sadler, Bob Sadler, Darrell Sadler, Larry Sadler, Jason Thompson and Finis Buxton. Interment and final prayers were held in the Boss (MO) Cemetery.
