He departed this life Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Lawrence County Manor in Mount Vernon, Missouri having reached the age of fifty-seven years, three months and eighteen days. Jerry was united in marriage to Rosemary Honaker in St. Louis, Missouri on August 12, 1978. Jerry is survived by five sons; Jerry Ray Ward, Jr., and wife Samantha of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, John Matthew Ward and wife Rebecca of Germany, Robert Joseph 'Ward and wife Donna of Fordland, Missouri, Steven Scott Ward of Springfield, Missouri and Dwayne White and wife Amanda of Festus, Missouri; a brother, Carl Ward and wife Vickie of Potosi; a sister, Barbara Allen of Potosi; thirteen grandchildren, and an adopted son Aaron Cantrell and wife Marie of Hartville, Missouri. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary Ward; three brothers, Floyd, Charles and John Ward, and two sisters, Peggy McFall and Viola Dean. Jerry loved to visit and talk with his friends and family. He also loved to play music, chess and write poetry. He enjoyed spending time watching old war movies, snacking on cheese puffs and reading his Bible. Jerry served his country in the United States Army. A graveside service was held Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at New Diggins Cemetery, Mineral Point, Missouri with Pastor Jason Waterman officiating.
