"Shadow" departed this life on October 9, 2005 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of seventy years, four months and eight days. Charles was united in marriage to Blanche Amsler August 31, 1957 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines. This union was blessed to have four children. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Blanche Thebeau of Eureka; two sons, Charles Glennon Thebeau, Jr. of Eureka and Darren Thebeau of Pacific, Missouri; two daughters, Tina Herbst of Eureka and Marsha York of St. Louis, Missouri; three sisters, Theresa Sampson of Cadet; Geraldine "Jean" Anselman and husband Robert of Cadet and Rita Kamper and husband Carl of Cadet; four brothers, Irvin Thebeau and wife Dorothy of Barnhart, Missouri; Leonard "Jiggs" Thebeau and wife Irene; Raymond Thebeau and Clifford "Benny" Thebeau and wife Ellen, all of Cadet; five grandchildren; Christina, Frank, Andrew, Jennifer and Carly; two great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Lacey, and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James "Stanley," Nicholas E. and Ralph A. Thebeau and two sisters, Margaret M. Pruitt and Louise M. Missey. Charlie was a longtime member and past President of the West County Lions Club in Eureka, Missouri and was very active with all of its programs. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka and enjoyed volunteering with their fish fries and barbeques. He liked to travel with tour groups, especially to Branson, Missouri. Charlie loved visiting with his neighbors, many friends and family. He also enjoyed going on family trips to Circle-R-Ranch. Charlie liked to garden and cook among his many other activities. He served his country in the United States Army in Germany with Elvis Presley. Charlie will always be remembered for his loving smile and always having a joke to tell. Visitation was held Tuesday, October 11, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Dean Kamper, Keith Kamper, Lonnie Lawson, Scott Amsler, Walter Pruitt, Frank Everhart and Andrew Everhart. Burial took place at the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
