(Yarbrough) DeGonia and the late Gene H. DeGonia. He departed this life suddenly Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the age of forty-two years, eight months and eighteen days. Pete, as he was known to all, was united in marriage to Colleen Saunders on February 14, 1997 in Potosi, Missouri. Pete is survived by his wife Colleen Degonia of Potosi, Missouri; one son, Christopher DeGonia of Festus, Missouri; one daughter, Cindy DeGonia of Festus, Missouri; his mother Charlene M. DeGonia of Potosi; two step-daughters, Jessica and Natalie Wade of Potosi; three sisters, Charlene Marie Littrell and husband Kenny of Blackwell, Missouri; Karen Benson and husband Jon, and Pamela Holland and husband Tommy, all of Potosi; two brothers; Raymond Gene "Buck" DeGonia and wife Lorretta and Lynn DeGonia and wife Sandy, all of Potosi; two grandchildren, Jakob DeGonia of Festus, Missouri and Jaiden Wilson of Potosi; mother-in-law, Katheryn Saunders of California, Missouri; father-in-law, Johnny Saunders of Potosi; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and dear friends. Pete was preceded in death by his father Gene on May 1, 1993. Pete had a great love for this life and enjoyed the time he spent with all his family and friends. Pete always had a way of making special time to spend with Colleen; he would always brighten up with a smile or that special glow when she would walk in the room or hear her voice on the phone. He was never short a smile or the time to stop and talk for a spell. He loved spending time in the out of doors fishing or just looking at the many gifts of Mother Nature. He enjoyed playing poker and video games, he would relax watching game shows. He would spend his spare time working with wood, constructing whatever would come to mind and loved to spend time tinkering on anything. Visitation was held Sunday, November 12, 2005 from 3:00 to 9:00 pm. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral services were held Monday, November 13, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Rev. Ray Littrell officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Joe Degonia, Lynn DeGonia, Shane Self, Nathaniel Skiles, Frankie Skiles and Matthew Degonia. Burial took palce in the Calvary Cemetery, Potosi. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, November 17, 2005
