Wayne, Indiana. Mr. Shearin retired from construction in Potosi, where he worked for over 15 years. He also owned and operated a taxi cab service in Potosi, MO for many years. Mr. Shearin was born September 27, 1930 at Palmer, MO, the son of Oliver James and Norma Lee (Beers) Shearin. He married Betty L. Sisk March 25, 1950 in Potosi. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty L. Shearin of Huntington; two sons, David Shearin of Huntington and Darrell Shearin and his wie, Gail, of Potosi; one daughter, Cathie Tyger of Mission Viejo, California; two brothers, Bob Shearin of Hillsboro, MO, and Pete Shearin of Skull Valley, Arizona; half brother, Charlie Hill of Potosi; two sisters, Hilda Volner and Mary Lou Dicus of Potosi; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation was Wednesday, August 10, 2005 in the Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Ray Scribner officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jewel "Red" Shearin may be made to the Visiting Nurses and Hospice Home in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Hungint, IN 46750.
