He departed this life Thursday, July 21, 2005 at his residence having reached the age of fifty-one years and one month. John is survived by one daughter, Melanie R. Seiberlich of Park Hills, Missouri; one son, Jeremy J. Bakke of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sisters, Susan Griggs and husband Randy of Summersville, Missouri and Elizabeth "Betty" Mathenia and husband Larry of Cabool, Missouri; two brothers, Louie Seiberlich and wife Debbie of Park Hills, Missouri and Ray Seiberlich and wife Debbie of Potosi; three grandchildren, Jaden Bakke of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lance Seiberlich of Park Hills, Missouri, and Bailey Coleman of Park Hills, Missouri and by many other relatives and dear friends. John loved being in the outdoors, swimming, floating, fishing and enjoying his many friends. John had a great love for old time guns and enjoyed the time firing black powder guns. He was always ready to show his talent and play a game of pool. John served his country during the Vietnam era by enlisting in the United States Navy. He served active duty from February 20, 1973 to February 10, 1977 where he trained and worked as a dental technician in the 11th dental company, 3rd FSSG. John was transferred to the United States Navy Reserve where he finished his obligation and received an Honorable Discharge January 15, 1979. John was a long time member of the Potosi Elks Lodge #2218, where he was very active in all of the elks activities. Memorials to the Gary West Scholarship Fund or the Potosi Elks Christmas Charity Program were suggested by John's family. Visitation was Friday, July 29, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 30, 2005 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Monsignor James Hanson officiating. Burial took place at the Calvary Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. The Missouri Funeral Honors Team and the Washington County VFW Post #6996 honored John for his service to this county with the gun salute, "Taps," and the folding and presentation of the American Flag. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, August 4, 2005
