Sonny departed this life Monday, July 25, 2005 at St. Louis University Hospital having reached the age of sixty years, five months and two days. Sonny is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Marie Boyer and dear friend Les Wills of Desloge, Missouri; two sons; Randall Joseph Boyer and wife Tammy of Gravette, Arkansas and Jeff Boyer and wife Maria of Old Mines; three sisters; Juanita Portell of DeSoto; Joan Karsch of Old Mines, and Peggy Williams of Herculaneum, Missouri; three grandchildren, dear and special companion Joyce Campbell of Old Mines, and her three chidlren, Sieglinde Miller, Bahry Don Dampbell and Frank E. Campbell; ex-wife, Mary Etta Coleman of Old Mines and by many other dear relatives and special friends. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Rose Boyer. Sonny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Old Mines where he was a past Grand Knight. He enjoyed woodworking and making crafts including bird houses. Sonny loved being in the outdoors taking care of his flower garden and admiring Mother Nature. Sonny loved playing card games, especially euchre, taking camping trips and going floating. He was a very kind and loving person who will be missed by his many friends and family. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 26, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 27, 2005 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Monsingor James Hanson officiating. Burial took place at the St. Joachim Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. The Missouri Funeral Honors Team and the Washington County VFW Post #6996 honored Sonny for his service to this country with a gun salute, "Taps" and folding and presentation of the American Flag. A luncheon was held for the family and friends at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Old Mines following the services. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, August 4, 2005
