She departed this life Friday, August 12, 2005 at Georgian Gardens Care Center in Potosi, Missouri, having reached the age of eighty-five years, nine months and twenty-three days. Muriel was united in marriage to Jesse Wilson Neel on April 23, 1939, in Leadwood, Missouri, and to this union four children were born. Muriel is survived by two daughters; Linda Muriel Santschi and husband Dale, and Karen Lee White and husband Gary of Irondale, Missouri, one son; Jesse Wayne Neel of Santa Rosa, California; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and former son-in-law, Terry Anderson of Bonne Terre, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Wilson Neel; a daughter, Margaret Ann Anderson; a brother, Alvin Eichenberger, and a grandson, Terry Dale Santschi. Muriel was a long time and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Irondale, and a fifty-year-plus member of the Order of Eastern Star, Irondale Chapter. Muriel was retired from Wetterau Corporation. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Jesse during his working years. Spending time with her family, especially at family get togethers where she would play music with either a guitar or violin, was always enjoyable for her. Muriel had a beautiful alto singing voice and was well known for her delicious baking skills expecially her cherry nut chiffon cake and coconut cream pies. Muriel will long be remembered for her dedication to family, friends and the community of Irondale that she loved so much. Visitation was held Sunday, August 14, 2005 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, August 15, 2005 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri. Funeral services were held Monday, August 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Pastor Tami Wilson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Lucas White, Andrew White, Zachary White, Jeff Swyers, Mike Mercille and Ronnie McEntire. Burial took place at the Hopewell Cemetery. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, August 18, 2005
