He was born August 31, 1956, a son of the late Alfred Benson and Bettie (Sumpter) Benson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Benson, Jr. and Stephen Benson. Those who remain to mourn the passing of his life include two sons, Michael Greenlee of Belgrade and Cory Benson of Bonne Terre; three sisters, Juanita Benson, Gulf Port, Mississippi, Beverly Strong of Potosi and Teresa Benson and special friend Ron Johner of Caledonia; a brother, James "Pete" Benson and wife Donna of Potosi, aunt Wanda Sumpter of Potosi, nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him. A graveside memorial service was held Sunday, December 11, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hopewell Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Britton Funeral Home, Potosi.
