December 10, 1968 at Maplewood, Missouri she was married to Ralph Windle, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Robin (Thurmond) Whitehead of Potosi; a son, Jim Thurmond of Cuba, Missouri; two stepsons, Gary Windle of Arnold, Missouri and Kenny Windle of Folley, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Jerri Jane Cook of Baldwin, Missouri; three sisters, Alberta McCourtney of Potosi; Francis Short, Mineral Point and Mildred Smith of Texas; a brother, Lowman Downard of Florida; five grandchildren; eight-step grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Martin Thurmond; a brother, Raymond Downard and two sisters, Aurelia Campbell and Aleen Bean. Mrs. Windle had been a resident of the Henson Boarding Home for over four years. She worked at Anchor Industry and enjoyed sewing, cooking and caring for the home. She was a member of the Potosi First Assembly of God Church. Visitation was held Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel,Neelyville, MO. Burial was in Kensey Cemetery near Harviell, MO. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, January 19, 2006
