He was born in St. Louis, January 9, 1946, a son of Francis Edward and Iona Marie (Cook) Missey. On April 3, 1976 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Louise Montgomery and two sons came to bless their union. Darrell is survived by his wife, Cheryl "Sherri" Missey, of St. Clair; two sons, Ryan Missey and wife Trisha, of Union, MO and Craig Missey and fiancee' Bekki, of Pacific, MO; two grandchildren, Logan Missey of Union and Amelia Belle Missey of Pacific; his mother, Marie Missey of Potosi, MO; his mother-in-law Geneva Montgomery of Evansville, Indiana; two brothers, Mike Missey and wife Ruth Ann of Potosi, and Roger Missey and wife Diane of Cadet, MO; one sister, Pamela Lee and husband John of Grubville, MO; brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Francis Missey. Darrell was a Christian and trusted in the Lord as his Savior. As a young man he served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge, he was employed in Washington, MO as a machine operator at Hazel Promotional Products for ten years, and then later worked at Magnet, Inc. for approximately four years. Darrell enjoyed greatly the country settings and rural areas within his native state of Missouri. He spent much of his spare time in the outdoors, either hunting, fishing, gardening, or camping with family and friends. He also loved to feed birds and other wildlife. Among other wonderful qualities, Darrell was especially appreciated for his keen sense of humor. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with Rev. Johnny Dover officiating.
