MO, Thursday, June 6, 1974 CHARLES LEE WOOD Airman First Class Charles Lee Wood was born March 16, 1950 at DeSoto, Mo., Route 1, and departed this life May 26, 1974, at the Francis E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, Wyoming, being 24 years old at the time of his death. He was the son of Ronald E. Wood, Sr., and Reva Branson Wood of DeSoto, Mo., Route 1. Surviving are: his two children: one son age five, Anthony Sean, and one daughter age two, Shannon Renee, both of Cheyenne, Wyo.; his parents; one sister, Susan Jane, and maternal grandfather, W. E. Branson, all of Route One, DeSoto; also, one brother, Rev. Ronald E. Wood, Jr., of Neosho, Mo.; and one sister, Beverly Deborah (Mrs. Robert Simpson) of Potosi; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, one great niece and one great nephew. Airman Wood was a member of Charter Baptist Church, Festus Route. S/Sgt. William E. Jones served as Honor Guard with the body enroute from F. E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne to DeSoto. Airmen from Scott AFB, Ill., were in charge of the full military funeral May 30, 1974, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Ronald E. Wood, Jr., of the Methodist Church, Neosho, conducting the services at the Dietrich Chapel. Interment was in the Charter cemetery under the direction of the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in DeSoto.
