He was born April 4, 1918 at Belgrade, a son of the late Lemuel and Zoie (Coleman) Martin. Bill, a life-long resident of Belgrade, was saved at an early age and attended the Belgrade United Methodist Church. He was united in marriage to June Walton on August 26, 1943 at Leadington, Mo., and one daughter was born to this union. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Woodrow Martin; two sisters, Alna Davidson and Emily Martin. Those who remain to mourn his passing from this life are his loving and devoted wife, June Martin of Belgrade; one daughter and son-in-law, Billie Jo and Ancel Jinkerson and one grandson, Michael Jinkerson, all of Washington, Mo., five sisters; Edna (Mrs Charles Sullivan) of Flushing, Michigan; Arple (Mrs. Clarence Turner) of Steelville; Dorothy (Mrs. Ernest Johnson) of Flint, Michigan, Helen (Mrs. Lee Dix) of Desloge and Naomi (Mrs. Richard Henderson) of Flint, Michigan, a very special niece, Linda Nickelson, two great nieces, Tyla and Adrienne Nickelson, other nieces and nephews whom he loved and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16 at the Belgrade United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Hemmerla officiating. Interment was in the Belgrade Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Britton Bros. (Sparks) Funeral Home of Potosi. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO
