Thebeau, 83, Festus, was born January 2, 1922 at Old Mines, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Frances (Coleman) Thebeau and died Sunday, July 3, 2005 at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis. He was a World War II Veteran of the Navy and U.S. Army. Mr. Thebeau was a retired metal polisher for Southern Equipment Corp. of St. Louis. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church, Festus and Shekinah Masonic Lodge 256; V.F.W. 3777 and Festus-Crystal City Conservation Club. Survivors include his wife, Vera (Pratt) Thebeau, Festus, whom he married July 4, 1954; two daughters, Doris (husband Gus) DeClue, Festus and Fran Moore, Festus; five brothers, Irvan (Dorothy) Tebo, Barnhart; Leonard "Jiggs' (Irene) Thebeau, Cadet; Charlie "Shadow" (Blanche) Thebeau, St. Clair; Clifford "Benny" (Ellen) Thebeau, Cadet, and Raymond (Theresa) Thebeau, Cadet; three sisters, Theresa Sampson, Cadet; Geraldine "Jean" (husband Robert) Anselman, Cadet, and Rita (Carl) Kamper, Cadet; five grandchildren, Vera (Chuck) Dacus, Auggie DeClue, Robert Moore, Samantha Moore and Kayley DeClue; one great-granddaughter, Hanna DeClue; other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Nicholas Thebeau and two sisters, Margaret Pruitt and Louise Missey. Funeral services were set for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005 from Vinyard Funeral Chapel, Festus, with Rev. Phil Poe, Pastor, Fairview Christian officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memorial Garden, Crystal City. Memorial suggested to Fairview Christian Church, Festus. Arrangements were by Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus.
