I've been following the many messages about the SETTLE & MARTIN family. I'm assuming we're talking about John Settle & Nancy Martin. Jane mentioned that Nancy Settle (Katie) appeared to have been #10 of 12 and Thomas Bailey Settle #6. Larry referred to her as Nancy "Kittie" Settle who m. James Millsap. I only had 9 children for John Settle & Nancy Martin as follows: 1) Walter Settle (1831-1915) 2) Thomas Bailey Settle (1833-1907) - m. Maggie Black 3) James S. Settle (1835-1860) 4) Mary Elizabeth Settle (1836 - 1904) - m. Isaac Uriah Hargus (our directs) 5) Sarah A. Settle (b. abt 1838 - d.unk) - m. Wm. H. Stuart 6) William M. Settle (b. abt 1840 - d. unk) - m. Hattie A. Van Alen 7) Catherine Settle (b. abt 1842 - d. unk) 8) John D. Settle (1846 -1880) 9) Martha "Mattie" E. Settle (Feb 1849 - d. unk) - m. Alexander Jamison If I add Nancy "Katie/Kittie" Settle, m. James Millsap, that makes #10, who are the other 2 that I'm missing? Also does anyone have dates for Nancy and James? FYI - I have specific dates for the above listed children, except where noted "abt" or "unk".
