He was born April 28, 1932 in Union, Missouri, a son of the late Seaf and Alice (Marler) Sansoucie. On September 11, 1951, he was united in marriage to Genevia Courtway and to this union three children were born. Genevia preceded him in death on April 4, 2002. He was a loving husband, dear father, brother, uncle and friend. Bernie was a veteran of the Korean War. At the time of his honorable discharge, he held the position of Quartermaster. He was a member of the Washington County Auxiliary Police, serving at the rank of Lieutenant, and an active member of the Cadet Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and talking on the CB "ham" Radio, and mushroom hunting, in which he was very successful. Those who remain to mourn his passing include his two daughters, Linda Emily and husband Rosco, and Laura Emily and husband Christopher of Cadet; his son, Robert Roderick and wife Glenda of Ste. Genevieve; four brothers, Glen Roderick and wife Kim of Osceola, Edward Sansoucie and wife Myra of Antonia, Earl Sansoucie of Potosi, and Howard Sansoucie and wife Ginger of Cuba; two sisters, Marie Walters of Blackwell and Elsie Moreland and husband Raymond of Vichy; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the Britton Chapel in Potosi with Rev. Jim Merritt officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Tony Emily, Neil Isgrigg, Dustin Kramer, Ed Sansoucie, Howard Sansoucie, Bill Rodgers and Randy Courtway. Interment followed in the Barlow Cemetery, Cadet, under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home, Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, May 19, 2005
