She was born December 6, 1933 at Cadet, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lillian (Rulo) Politte. Rachel was united in marriage to Lloyd Shepard March 15, 1953 at Paragould, Arkansas. To that loving union four children were born. She was a member of the Miracle Mountain Pentecostal Church in Cadet for many years. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kelly Wayne Kean, a brother, Leroy Politte and a brother-in-law, Leon Skaggs. Those who remain to mourn her passing include her loving and devoted husband, Lloyd Shepard of Cadet, two sons, Joe Shepard and Randy Shepard both of Potosi, two daughters, Robin Kean and husband Rev. Wayne Kean of Valles Mines, and Sheila Sampson and husband Bill Sampson of Cadet; daughter-in-law, Debbie Shepard of Cadet; three brothers, Robert Politte and wife Norma Jean of Ste. Genevieve, Billy Politte and wife Wanda of Festus and Mike Politte and wife Connie of Cadet; five sisters, Norma Hedrick and husband Johnny of Mineral Point, LaVerta Stringer and husband Grassy of Potosi, JoAnn Skaggs of Mineral Point, Rhonda Adams and husband Rev. Bobby Adams of Mineral Point, and Peggy Adams and husband Gary of Mineral Point; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and freinds who will sadly miss her. Fuenral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Jim Cartee and Rev. Lynn Thebeau officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Sheila Sampson, Willie Sampson, Brandon Sampson, Joe Shepard, Jason Shepard and Randy Shepard. Interment was in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Potosi. Independent Journal, Potosi, MO, Thursday, May 5, 2005
