Phillis was born May 6, 1953 at St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of Myrtle Loy Stevens and the late James Stevens. Phillis was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a dear daughter, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend and will be sadly missed by all. In addition to her father, Phillis was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Stevens and brother-in-law, Larry Richardson. Those who remain to mourn the passing of her life are her husband, Mike Hopkins of Mienral Point; her dear mother, Myrtle Stevens of St. Louis; father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Alice Hays of Mineral Point; two daughters, Daphne Casteel and husband Bobby of Fredericktown and Lanora Jaster and husband Leroy and wife Leslie of Fredericktown; a stepdaughter, Tiffany Sletten and husband Michael of Leadington; four sisters, Patricia Richardson of St. Louis, Joyce McMahon and husband Michael of High Ridge, Karin Modglin of Mehlville and Kathy Ghirardi and husband Joe of Granite City, Illinois; four precious grandchildren, Brittney, Kloe, Alexandria and Tyler; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends who truly loved her. There will be a memorial visitation beginning at 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Britton Funeral Home, Potosi. A memorial servicve will follow at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Britton Chapel with Rev. Mike Meraz officiating.
