DeClue of Potosi, Missouri was born in Potosi, Missouri on July 25, 1919, the son of the late Les and Anna (Weber) DeClue. He departed this life on September 26, 2005 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-six years, two months, and one day. Harry was united in marriage to Georgia (Helms) DeClue on April 10, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri and this union was blessed to have two daughters. Harry is survived by his wife, Georgia DeClue, one daughter, Aona DeClue of Potosi; one brother, Donald DeClue and wife Peggy of Potosi; four grandchildren, Melissa Cordia, Della Boyster, Elizabeth Gough and Dawn Parker; four great-grandchidlren, Amanda Gillam, Dillon Cordia, Ashley Gillam and Abigail Cordia. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Palla Parker; three sisters, Edna Key, Olive Cantrell and Athal Trudse and three brothers, Wilber, Virgil and Gene DeClue. Harry was honorably discharged from the United States Army having served during World War II. He enlisted September 14, 1940 and was discharged June 11, 1945. He was awarded one Bronze Star for the Aleutian Islands, and the good conduct medal. During his enlistment he performed duties as a member of the rifle unit to provide automatic and semi-automatic rifle fire against enemy personnel. Harry also cleaned and serviced weapons, and served as an instructor in rifle marksmanship in training camp. Harry loved to sit and relax in his rocking chair. He also enjoyed going hunting and fishing. Harry will be deeply missed by his family friends, and everyone he knew. Visitation was Tuesday, September 27, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri. Funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday September 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Potosi, Missouri with Father George Galovich officating. Burial took place at the Calvary Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri. Services were entrusted to the care and direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
